Dan brings a unique combination of entrepreneurship and corporate leadership to his position as an Investment Banker at CFA. In 1999 Dan acquired a manufacturing/distribution company providing proprietary tools and accessories to the golf industry. Over the next 13 years, Dan acquired two additional complementary companies and integrated them into his operation. During his ownership, Dan developed and launched many new products and significantly expanded the product lines for the distribution side of his business. In late 2012 Dan sold his company to a larger strategic buyer.
Prior to owning and operating his own companies, Dan began his career at Cargill, one of the largest privately held companies in the world, and for 19 years progressed through a variety of trading/senior management positions. In his last position with Cargill, Dan was Export Feed Grains Manager, leading a matrixed international team trading over $1 billion annually. He directed feed grain exports from U.S. ports to global destinations, developing expertise in risk management, international logistics, as well as honing very sharp negotiating skills.
Dan applies his years of operational experience along with his success in acquiring, running, growing and selling his own companies to his client work as a mergers and acquisitions advisor. He understands first-hand what company owners are going through as they contemplate what might be a once in a lifetime transaction. Dan is a proven strategist, collaborator and problem solver, dedicated to facilitating the best outcome for his clients. Since joining CFA in 2016, Dan has enabled multiple transactions in a wide spectrum of industries and service sectors.
